Dermatomyositis [DRB1 RISK ALLELE] (Genotype) - SINGLE ASSAY TEST – Blood or Tissue Samples preferred

Test Overview:

Genetic screening should be done before breeding, especially in breeds known to be predisposed (Collies, Shetland Sheepdogs, etc.). Breeders should use test results to avoid mating two high-risk carriers, thereby reducing the prevalence and impact of DM in offspring. Preferentially breed dogs with low-risk genotypes—e.g., dogs carrying only wild-type alleles at the relevant loci.
