Test Overview:

Mycobacterium avium complex is a group of mycobacteria that could possibly contain pathogenic elements. Dogs are often exposed to this bacteria as it is commonly found in the environment like soil and water. Usually dogs are not at risk due to their natural resistant to the infection, however some dogs who have immune system defects may be susceptible to the infection. Therefore, genetic factors can determine the susceptibility to infection. Mycobacterium avium is life threatening and common signs can include enlarged lymph nodes, liver and spleen. Additionally, further symptoms includes vomitting, lethargy, weakness, anorexia, fever, runny rose, diarrhoea, blood in stool, conjunctivitis or respiratory issues.
