Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (Dalmatian Type)

(ONLINE PRICE)

Test Overview:

Do not breed affected dogs (homozygous mutants) as the disease is fatal. Avoid carrier x carrier matings, which have a 25% chance of producing affected puppies. Breed carriers only to genetically clear (non-carrier) dogs to prevent affected offspring; note that some puppies will be carriers. Routine genetic testing for ANLN mutations in breeding Dalmatians is strongly recommended to reduce the incidence of the disease. Breed clubs and genetic counseling services can provide guidelines to help reduce or eliminate this mutation from the population while maintaining genetic diversity.
