Test Overview:

To produce saddle tan puppies, breeding stock should carry the WT allele at the RALY gene and the tan point at the A-locus (at/at). Dogs homozygous for the dup allele at RALY will produce classic black and tan offspring if the A-locus genotype is correct. Genetic testing of the RALY gene along with the E, K, and A loci can guide breeding decisions suited to desired coat color phenotypes. Breeders can use this information to maintain or introduce saddle tan patterns responsibly while preserving genetic diversity.
