Test Overview:

Genetic testing for the CORIN gene mutation at the Wb locus can identify carriers (one copy) and goldens (two copies). Breed two carriers together if the goal is to produce golden/sunshine kittens. About 25% of kittens will show the golden coat. Breeding a carrier to a non-carrier will not produce golden kittens but will maintain the gene in the population safely. Breeders should decide based on breeding goals whether to produce golden coats while maintaining overall health and diversity.
