Test Overview:

Test breeding cats for the gene mutation (GDF7) that causes FCM. Do not breed two carrier cats together because their kittens have a high chance of being affected. If a cat is a carrier (has one copy of the mutation), only breed it with a cat that does not carry the mutation. Never breed cats that are affected by FCM (have two copies of the mutation) because they will pass the disease to all their kittens. Breeders should share test results honestly and breed responsibly to prevent this brain disorder in kittens.
