Test Overview:

Use genetic testing to identify carriers and affected cats before breeding. Avoid breeding two carrier cats as there is a 25% chance of producing affected kittens. Carrier cats can be safely bred with genetically clear (non-carrier) cats; about 50% of offspring will be carriers, but none affected. Test all breeding animals, and consider testing offspring before they enter the breeding population. Aim to reduce mutation frequency responsibly through selective breeding while maintaining genetic diversity. Collaborate with veterinarians and genetics experts for breeding and health management plans.
