Test Overview:

Genetic testing for the PKD2 mutation is recommended in Siberian and related cats. Cats positive for the PKD2 mutation should not be bred to prevent transmission of the disease. Breed only cats that are clear of the mutation to reduce disease prevalence. Continue routine ultrasound screening for cyst detection alongside genetic testing, especially in breeding programs.
