Cats with two copies of the mutation (affected) should never be bred to prevent producing affected kittens. Cats carrying one copy (carriers) should be bred only with cats clear of the mutation to reduce risk of affected offspring. Avoid breeding two carrier cats together to prevent producing 25% affected kittens.
