Test Overview:

Exercise Induced Metabolic Myopathy affects dogs and is a muscle disorder. It is characterised by muscle weakness, pain, exercise intolerance and sometimes dark urine after exercise due to potential muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis). This disease results from a defect in the very long chain of acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (VLCAD) enzyme and consequently leads to metabolic issues after exercise.
